The Location front of the beach and it has a good bar
The sheets were ragged, it has kitchen with pots, with no stove, or microwave in the rooms.

Tropic Cay is a filthy, smelly, bio hazard, bed bug ridden, bait and switch, crack hotel. Do not come to the tropic cay!!!!!! The pictures online are not of the Tropic Cay. I am currently in contact with the state of Florida to see about their corrupt business practices, not to mention the multiple health code violations present. Do not come to the tropic cay!!!!

Absolutely nothing
It was filthy, extremely noisy and just thoroughly unpleasant. Staff were unfriendly, obnoxious and aggresive.

The location was great for shopping and the beach. I liked being able to visit the bar in the evening
The staff on the whole were friendly though clearly overworked and underpaid but the guy on reception - Shaun - was particularly unfriendly, bordering on rude. The manager ignored my emails. The wifi in rooms is so poor as to be unusable most of the time. I would advise travellers to book for just one night, extend if you find the place adequate but move on if not as there are loads of similarly priced, better hotels in the area

Absolutely nothing!!!!!!!!!! I am planning another trip next year to ft.lauderdale,fl. I plan on staying some where else. The worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
Everything about the hotel sucked!!!!!!!! Only good thing is that it was close to the beach and shops, which I liked.

Dicht bij het strand / close to the beach
The hotel gave me no service and no reply on the mail I sent concerning the complaint about not having wifi during the full term of my stay! Discoverd cockroach in the room and fridge was no fridge but only a cooling thing! Ants in the bathroom all the time.

Location was very good, easy access to everything but not right in the middle of all the craziness.
Hotel is very dated and is in need of sprucing up. As I mentioned the location was great and with a little cleaning up and updating it could be a really great boutique hotel. We had a double with a kitchen that was very roomy and comfortable. The door however did not seem secure but we did not feel unsafe. It did get a bit loud out by the pool some nights however I understand that is why people go to FL, to party. If catering to the spring break crowd is what you are looking for than I suspect the hotel is OK for that, however as I mentioned with a little upgrading you can service a whole different clientel and charge more at that. The housekeeping could be better, dust bunnies in the corners, some fingerprints around the door jams and no fitted sheets on the bed but no bugs arouond so that is a plus. All in all like the saying goes you get what you pay for. Thanks. Would recommend with stipulations.

The gentlemen at the front desk were very polite. When we checked in and when we checked out.
The place is falling apart. Everything is dirty, the stairs were totally disgusting, like they had never been cleaned. In front of our room #312, there was some type of fridge that is rusted and the area is disgusting. The room was really dirty. I had to clean everything with clorox wipies before we touched anything. The handle on the fridge was gross. The knob on the front door had something stickly on it. Even the lamps were full of dust, I had to wipe that also. I am a local, so we do weekends at the beach all the time, and try different hotels. I will never stay there again. I will never let any of my friends that come to visit from up north stay there.

I truly loved the location of the tropic cay and a majority of the staff were wonderful.
I was not impressed with the rooms, they truly need to update and fix some of the doors and windows.

It was literally across the street from the beach in an excellent location. The price was great, however you get what you pay for as far as accommodations are concerned.
There were no amenities that cater to a long stay. There are no hair dryers or accessible laundry facilities. The towels were cheap. Most importantly they do not have a "do not disturb" sign for the door and the cleaning lady will not stop knocking. I must say though it did look like they were slowly renovating the property and these may no longer be an issue by the time you read this, no guarantee though.

Good location and price, not nearly as loud or bad as most people make it to be here. Quite a bang for the buck.
My keycard kept getting deactivated, no big deal.
